Location: Markham, ON, Hybrid

Type of Employment: Full Time

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support or training for systems and networks
  • Provide daily support to all users
  • Act as the link between end users and higher-level support
  • Monitor system and network performance
  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs and data restoration
  • Performance maintenance activities (e.g. backups)
  • Maintain licenses and upgrade schedules
  • Collaborate with other professionals to maintain standards and functionality
  • Implements backups of data following standard backup procedures and maintains documentation of systems pertinent to operations and system administration
  • Provide regular incident reports back to business owners with root cause analysis of priority incidents
  • Setting up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices
  • Installing and configuring appropriate software and functions according to specifications
  • Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
  • Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
  • Identify computer or network equipment shortage

Qualifications / Requirements

  • 1 or more years of experience as IT Technician or relevant position
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication ability
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge in Office 365 and SharePoint Online
  • Knowledge in PMIS tools is ideal
  • Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
  • Some knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field
