Family Friend Facilitators

The YMCA of Fredericton responds to critical social needs in the community and works to provide solutions. Located downtown Fredericton, we are a hub for children, youth and families to gather and grow together. Our programming is designed to allow everyone the opportunity to reach their full potential. By nurturing the potential of children, youth and adults, the YMCA connects people to life-building opportunities, to each other and enhances their quality of life.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Family Friend Facilitators will report to Manager of Community Impact and will enjoy engaging with youth and families.
RESPONSIBILITIES and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Read, sign off and follow the YMCA Staff and Volunteer Guide and the Child Protection Policy and Procedures.
- Positive Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Adult Facilitators:
- 25 years old or above
- To engage with the parents with experiences to share.
- Should be person centered and trauma informed
- Willing to be further trained
- Child Facilitators:
- 16 years old or above
- To act as childminders during our sessions
- Comfortable with youth who are primarily 5-10 (Ages may vary).
- Should be person centered and trauma informed
- Willing to be further trained.
