Role Description

Arcadis is seeking a Region Manager for Alberta to join our Resilience team within the Environmental Restoration (ER) division. This role offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, with occasional travel required for project-related meetings.

As a Region Manager, you will collaborate with and mentor a dedicated team that is focused on professional growth and career advancement. Your role will involve managing and delivering environmental projects of varying sizes and complexities, ensuring they meet defined objectives in terms of scope, schedule, and cost.

Your expertise will support guidance across sectors such as oil and gas, mining, power, infrastructure, brownfields, and government projects.

Role Accountabilities

This position requires professional leadership, establishing and consolidating relationships with clients, and managing the delivery of projects or specialized components of projects. You will support the development of Arcadis capability in Alberta while building and maintaining a professional reputation both as an individual and for Arcadis. You will ensure continued development and evaluation of career progression and annual goals for employees in the area.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the delivery of complex projects, ensuring client satisfaction, effective project management, and communication and collaboration among Arcadis colleagues.
  • Supervising a team and managing resource pools, contributing to employee selection, and providing coaching and guidance, as necessary.
  • Directing the development of processes and leading the implementation of systems and process improvements.
  • Managing business relationships at a senior management level and providing strategic advice to support successful delivery of business objectives.
  • Conducting monthly project reviews on high-risk, high-value projects and developing action plans to resolve any identified issues.
  • Engaging with and championing the involvement of Arcadis Global resources, ensuring that local staff understand the benefits of utilizing these team resources.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) and/or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) designation in Alberta, Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field, and/or a professional status or equivalent. Ideal candidates will also have:

  • More than 15 years of professional experience, including over 8 years in consultancy roles.
  • Proven leadership in designing and executing field programs, with strong data analysis and report-writing skills.
  • Deep expertise in environmental compliance, understanding of provincial and federal guidelines, and experience managing projects across various sectors.
  • Effective people and talent management skills, with the ability to manage, interact with, and understand the skill set of a diverse group of people.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills crucial for planning and decision-making, with flexibility to travel for site visits and meetings as needed.

The salary range for this position is $109,000-178,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
