Compensation: $79,000 - $84,000

Job Type: Onsite, Permanent, with flexibility for overtime

Your Day to Day:

The PN/HCA Coordinator will, at various times, be responsible for the following:

  • Collaborate with the Campus Director on all aspects of PN and HCA program management, including faculty recruitment, performance evaluation, student academic performance, and compliance issues.
  • Deliver instruction that meets course and program objectives, and ensure that pedagogical and instructional materials are up-to-date, accessible, and actively used in both classroom and laboratory settings.
  • Assess and evaluate student applications for admission in collaboration with the Admissions Representative and Campus Director, and interview new students, providing written feedback to the Campus Director.
  • Assist with appeals processes, including those related to marks, passing grades, special awards, waivers, and challenges, to ensure fair and transparent decision-making.
  • Ensure quality program delivery by implementing and actively using all available mechanisms to support student performance in the classroom, laboratory, and practicum, and by ensuring clinical placements meet PN and HCA program requirements.
  • Encourage PN instructors to use the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination (CPRNE) Classroom Assessment Tool and CPNRE Prep Guide to support student achievement and organize and facilitate review sessions prior to the CPNRE.
  • Orient and support new instructors, providing necessary curricular and instructional support for effective program delivery, and ensure faculty hold valid professional licenses, maintaining copies of their renewed licenses in their files.
  • Lead student council activities, interact with students, staff, and instructors in a professional and courteous manner, and uphold company policies and procedures regarding students and instructors.
  • Participate in program evaluations, curriculum reviews, audits, and the development and evaluation of curriculum and instructional materials. Commit to ongoing professional development with at least 20 hours of continuing Nursing Education per year.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Registered Nurse, Bachelor in Nursing (Master preferred) with valid current CRNBC License.
  • At least three years of recent Canadian practical experience as a RN in a Canadian context in acute settings.
  • A credential in adult education/equivalent from an accredited post-secondary institution or willingness to meet this requirement within 12 months of hiring (eligible for tuition reimbursement).
  • Computer literacy skills (Understanding of file and folder management; use of common applications such as Word and PowerPoint; and E-mail and Internet proficiency)
  • Experience searching Nursing/other scientific databases, using electronic devices, multi-media to collect and validate data, analyze results, summarize conclusions and formulate sound judgment and practical recommendations
  • Relevant skills and knowledge relating to the field of Nursing and Education
  • Ability to assess, analyze and evaluate instructors' and students' needs and to take informed decisions in complex situations
  • Ability to work cooperatively with campus director, nursing faculty, administrative staff, community partners, healthcare agencies, and regulatory stakeholders
  • Ability to consider and respond appropriately to the needs and capabilities of students, to provide feedback and treat students equitably
