Earls Kitchen + Bar is seeking a collaborative, creative, and motivated recent graduate from a CIDA Accredited Interior Design Program to join our Store Development team as a Junior Interior Designer in Vancouver, BC.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in the Store Development Project Team, assisting with AutoCAD floor plans, design presentation materials, Sketchup modeling, and construction drawings. You’ll also support FF&E coordination and on-site installations, with opportunities to travel to project sites across North America. This is a unique opportunity to work on innovative hospitality design projects in a collaborative environment with clear pathways for professional growth.

Role Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Designer in executing site-specific design visions by assisting with design presentation materials, Sketchup modeling, construction drawing reviews, and material and vendor research, including finishes, lighting, and furniture specifications.
- Take ownership of project administrative tasks, such as creating heat maps, recording meeting minutes, reviewing store audits, and generating metrics, as-built plans, and calculations.
- Streamline the execution of FF&E and millwork packages through research, specification selection, installation documentation, and collaboration with consultants and vendors.
- Confidently articulate design intent and scope to the Executive Team in collaboration with the Creative Director of Design.
- Engage and collaborate with external consultants to deliver construction drawings and execute project deliverables.
- Develop floor plans, scoping documents, and FF&E packages with the support of the Manager and design team.
- Manage on-site coordination of FF&E installation, including landscaping and merchandising, and oversee professional photography and dimming processes, including overnight installations when required.
- Provide design intent and specifications for capital expenditure projects under the mentorship of the Facilities Designer and Manager of Design.
- Organize and manage the Design Resource Library, liaising with sales representatives and vendors.
- Innovate and identify opportunities to improve renovation processes while maintaining ownership of design templates and tools, including custom FF&E.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Team to align on design intent and specifications for capital expenditure projects.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continued education and self-discovery around DE&I, Earls Attributes, and the Earls Environmental North Star as it relates to the Design Department.
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from a CIDA Accredited Program.
- 0-3 years of experience in hospitality or commercial design (including internships).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Enscape, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present design concepts confidently.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-motivated.
- Willingness and availability to travel across North America.
- A sense of humour.
- A serious passion for food - we like to eat around here (sometimes wine is involved).
