About The Opportunity
The Physiotherapy Assistant works under the direction of the Manager, and supervision of the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist. The Physiotherapy Assistant works as an active member of the patient care team, with individuals, care partners and groups to help educate and promote movement, occupation, and function. Working collaboratively with their team, the Physiotherapy Assistant is responsible for the safe and proficient delivery of activities, interventions, and education that have been assigned by the therapists for patients/clients experiencing limitations in movement and daily function. The Physiotherapy Assistant also checks and cleans equipment, maintains treatment and storage areas and may order necessary supplies.
The successful applicant may be required to provide services anywhere within the Rehabilitation Services portfolio.

Please note: Internationally educated Physiotherapists who have completed credentialling with the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators (CAPR) will be considered qualified. The applicant will be required to present their official letter from CAPR indicating that they have successfully passed the credentialing process.
Hours
$24.11 - $27.40 Hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduation from a recognized Community College Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) College program required.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) training or requirement to complete training within first three (3) months of employment.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology an asset.
- Experience working with varied patient populations considered an asset.
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics required.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to complete assigned work.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members, patients and their care partners.
- Previous experience working with Geriatric populations an asset.
- Previous experience working with Frailty and Dementia an asset.
- Previous experience working with patients/clients with physical and/or cognitive impairments an asset.
- Previous experience with wheelchair fitting and modifications an asset.
- Experience providing active and passive range of motion and exercise programs.
- Experience with transfer training.
- Competencies in other languages considered an asset, French preferred.
