Data Analyst

Responsibilities

• Using statistical tools to interpret data sets, paying particular attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable for diagnostic and predictive analytics efforts.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in data sets. Preparing reports that effectively communicate trends and patterns.
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets that could be helpful for the business.
• Derive actionable insights from data sets.
• Interpret data, formulate reports, and make recommendations.
• Reviewing and analyzing data from multiple sources and communicating results and recommendations.
• Data mining and validating data integrity.
• Translating business needs into analytics/reporting requirements to support decisions and workflows with required information.
• Developing and building frameworks and processes to analyze unstructured data as well as data from traditional sources.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and strategies with technology solutions.
• Improve, automate, and simplify existing reporting, and ensure it is clearly communicated to stakeholders in business context.
• Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
• Familiarity with concepts like customer lifecycle management and customer lifetime value.
• Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
• Support the Sr. Manager, Consumer Insights and Market Research with larger analytics projects and ad-hoc requests.
• Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.

Job Qualification

• 1 to 2 years of demonstrated success and experience in relevant field – Data Analysis.
• Ability to interpret large amounts of data and to multi-task.
• Excellent knowledge of statistical packages, databases, and business research tools acumen.
• Familiarity with CRM programs.
• Working knowledge of data warehousing, modelling, and mining.
• Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
• Project Management skills and exceptional organizational skills. Ability to command many details simultaneously.
• Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.
• Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful.
• Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
• Ability to take initiative, manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; work collaboratively with cross-functional teams; and ensure high quality deliverables with high attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of PowerBI and Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
• Demonstrated prioritization ability, solution oriented and resilient with the ability to adapt and work well under pressure.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Technical Skills

• Solid experience working with popular Python framework such as Pandas, PySpark, NumPy, and Jupyter notebooks.
• MySQL and Postgres SQL abilities and experience querying complex datasets, preferably in AWS and Azure environment.
• Expertise in Power BI, DAX, and Level of Detail expressions, specifically creating calculated fields and table calculations to perform advanced data manipulation.
• In-depth knowledge of best practices in data visualization design including:
• Storytelling skills, with a track record of translating complex data into compelling business insights.
• Choosing the right chart types (bar charts, line graphs, pie charts, heatmaps, etc.) based on objectives.
• Using colour, size, and layout effectively to highlight key data points and trends.
• Ensuring dashboard performance by optimizing large datasets and reducing load times.
• Experience with Azure Fabric, Synapse, Power Insight, AWS RDS, AWS, Athena, Glue is preferred, but not required.
