Materials Handling Engineer

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be self-motivated, well organised with the ability to manage multiple work fronts in a busy environment. You will be able to think out-of-the-box and be the driver to find innovative solutions to trivial problems.

• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada (Desirable)
• At least 5-8 years’ experience, preferably in the project design, commissioning or onsite operation environments
• Experience with materials handling equipment such as conveyors, crushing, screening and milling along with a solid knowledge of minerals processing plants.
• Familiar with industry design tools (e.g conveyor design software, CAD, simulation, etc.)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  
  

Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Working across a continuous succession of small and large, domestic and international projects as they progress through the project lifecycle from early concept development, detailed design, construction, commissioning and operations
• Demonstrate high standard of personal safety and safety in design practices;
• Undertaking or supervising the preparation of studies, site reports, design layouts, bill of quantities and cost estimates. Generating equipment specifications and support the equipment evaluation and procurement activities during project execution
• Plan and coordinate engineering design assignments
• Review projects and recommend changes to specification or design engineering processes to maximise outcome for our clients
• Managing discipline budget and schedules during the execution of projects in all phases of maturity.
• Carry out site inspections and liaise with suppliers, clients, consultants or commissioning engineers concerning the design, installation, construction and commissioning of assigned work
  
  

What is in it for you?

Salary range in BC: $120,000-175,000

The salary offered to the successful person for this position will consider education, experience, relevant skills and capability, geographic location and market conditions at the time of hire.
