NOTE: This is a full-time, permanent, on-site position in Downtown Vancouver.
There is a hybrid option after 3 months of employment* (4 days in-office, 1 day WFH), after 1 year of employment* (3 days in-office, 2 days WFH)

As a Business Analyst at Spring Financial, you will play a crucial role collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, and data analytics, to gather and analyze business requirements, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to the overall success of our current products and future products.

As a Business Analyst at Spring Financial, you will play a crucial role collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, and data analytics, to gather and analyze business requirements, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to the overall success of our current products and future products.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Gathering:
- Conduct interviews, surveys, and workshops with stakeholders to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements.
- Act as a bridge between business teams and data scientists to ensure clear communication and alignment on objectives.
- Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical requirements.
- Work closely with data science and technical teams to develop the most effective solutions on complex, high-impact efforts.
- Business Process Analysis:
- Analyze and map existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Develop process models and workflow diagrams to document current and future state processes aligned with data-driven improvements.
- Monitor key performance metrics to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of deployed models.
- Documentation:
- Create comprehensive documentation, including business requirements documents (BRDs), product requirements documents (PRDs), functional specifications, use cases, user stories, and process flows.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Document and report ML model performance, post delivery analytics data such as statistics on Cx behavior, analytics outcomes and results of new enhancements or projects.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, IT, development teams, and business stakeholders to design and implement effective business solutions.
- Organize and lead grooming sessions to review and refine the product backlog.
- Work with stakeholders to prioritize tasks based on business impact, technical feasibility, and dependencies.
- Ensure that user stories are well-defined, clear, and ready for development.
- Define minimum feature set, acceptance criteria, user acceptance tests.
- Facilitate discussions to clarify requirements, acceptance criteria, and dependencies.
- Ensure that proposed solutions align with business objectives and requirements.
- Testing and Validation:
- Collaborate with the Data Science team to design test plans and evaluate model performance.
- Obtain formal sign-off from stakeholders upon successful completion of UAT, ensuring that all business requirements are satisfactorily met.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as a liaison between business units, Data Science and technology teams, and support teams to ensure clear and consistent communication.
- Facilitate meetings and presentations to keep stakeholders informed of project status, risks, and issues.
- Project Support:
- Provide ongoing support for implemented solutions, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and enhancements.
- Monitor solution performance and suggest improvements as needed.
- Training and Support:
- Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure effective adoption of new systems and processes.
- Provide post-implementation support to resolve any issues and ensure a smooth transition.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and document potential risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project risks.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance business processes and systems by identifying opportunities for optimization..
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure that all business analysis activities comply with organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
- Adhere to industry standards and best practices for business analysis and project management.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field.
- The ideal candidate will have a history of demonstrated results collaborating with Data Science/Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning teams to deliver business values.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the fintech industry, with a focus on financial services
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into actionable requirements.
- Thrive in fast-paced environments, be able to manage through ambiguity and complexity, create and simplify processes, impacting a growing organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with data analysis tools and methodologies such as AGILE, Jira, Confluence.
- Knowledge of fintech industry trends and consumer lending products.
