The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, this position will be responsible for supplementing our land use planning group on projects involving all aspects of land use and environmental planning for both public and private sector clients in Ontario; in particular, they will have the opportunity to work on Major GTA Capital Projects. They will be critical to supporting Project Management teams and leading all stakeholder engagement strategies. The successful candidate can expect to be challenged in a variety of tasks undertaken in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.

What you can expect do here:
- Developing and implementing communication and stakeholder engagement strategies for land use, construction, and environmental planning projects.
- Overseeing and facilitating stakeholder meetings, public events, community liaison committees, community pop-ups, and site tours as required.
- Coordinating and liaising with stakeholders, scheduling and attending meetings and workshops, preparing presentations and taking meeting minutes.
- Enhancing relationships with partners, stakeholders, and the public by providing project information, coordinating responses to inquiries, and contributing to the implementation of communications plans.
- Engaging with community groups and key stakeholders by clearly communicating updates on construction, technical details, and work plans.
- Writing monthly reports and technical memos and coordinating updates to stakeholder management plans.
- Liaising with communications specialists, contractors, engineers, and architects to prepare deliverables and respond to project enquiries.
- Preparing work plans and costing for projects
- Obtaining planning and development approvals;
- Organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings; and
- Providing support during public consultation processes.
- University degree in Planning, Environmental Studies, or Communications, Public Policy, Geography, or a similar degree.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in a municipal or consulting environment;
- Excellent written and oral communication and time management skills;
- Demonstrated public consultation experience leading and facilitating meetings in-person and virtually;
- Highly motivated, organized, flexible, enthusiastic team player committed to upholding our reputation for delivering high quality service;
- Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team on complex transit and infrastructure project is an asset;
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, query, analyze, and effectively communicate information;
- Eligibility or Full Member in the Ontario Professional Planners Institute, the Canadian Institute of Planners, and the International Association for Public Participation; and
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License is an asset.
