Clinical Specialist Instructor – Nursing

Position Overview

Calian is seeking a Clinical Specialist Instructor, in Nursing to help support the design, development and delivery of Canadian Forces Health Services Group Training and Education programs.

Responsibilities

• Instruct Clinical Specialty T&E Programs
• Develop lesson plans
• Prepare classing, equipment, job aids and learning tools for instruction
• Set up/break down of training requirements such as dismantling equipment, and classrooms
• Counsel and provide remedial Training and Education to students who are experiencing academic difficulties
• Assess students
• Advise on student performance
• Maintain student files and feedback notes
• Advise on the quality and efficiency of the instruction

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree OR post graduate diploma/certificate from a recognized Canadian University of College or from an equivalent in the following occupations: Health Service Management Officer, Nursing Officer, Pharmacy Officer, Medical Officer, Bio Science Officer, Physiotherapy Officer, Dental Officer, Dental Technician, Physician Assistant
• Must have completed a minimum of sixty training days within the last three years in instructing in military health services in the following occupations: Medical Technician, Medical Assistant Technician, Dental Technician, Physician Assistant, Preventive Medical Technician, Health Service Management Officer, Nursing Officer, Pharmacy Officer, Medical Officer, Bio Science Officer, Physiotherapy Officer, Dental Officer
• Must hold a valid professional license in good standing with respective governing body for the following occupations: Nursing Officer, Pharmacy Officer, Medical Officer, Physiotherapy Officer, Dental Officer, Dental Technician, Physician Technician
• Must have one year experience within the last five years’ operating training simulators in any of the following fields: Aerospace Medicine, Hyperbaric Medicine, General Medical Simulation, General Military Simulation

Additional Requirements

• Bilingual in both Official languages preferred
• You must have the ability to work onsite, as public transportation may not always be available
• You must be a Canadian Citizen
• You must be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Secret level
