Role Overview:
The Manager Procurement Categories will lead complex procurement deal negotiations; performs financial, commercial, technical and performance evaluations of large and small suppliers; and drives Fidelity’s various Canadian business units in delivering optimized deals. You seek to achieve value for services, maximize operational efficiency, and lead different Fidelity business units through the procurement process, from sourcing to negotiating to contract management. This individual will manage a team of Procurement Specialists in Fidelity Canada’s head office in Toronto.
What You Will Do:
- Evaluate and manage large and small suppliers and implement SLA/KPIs in agreements
- Perform financial, technical and commercial evaluations of large and small suppliers
- Participate in SLA and KPI negotiations with suppliers
- Assist and mentor vendor managers in managing external supplier relationships (i.e. performance management, service delivery, SLA/KPI monitoring and reporting, service extensions)
- Launch Request for Proposal/Request for Information and evaluate suppliers based on results
- Collaborate with Fidelity stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies for products and services
- Leverage opportunities for and with other Fidelity procurement teams globally
- Determine the appropriate request for proposal/request for information to launch, prepare the relevant documentation and evaluate supplier capabilities and pricing
- Benchmark program costs and identify and implement cost saving opportunities
- Drive procurement deals to deliver optimally balanced solutions
- Lead complex commercial and technical negotiations for contracts and trigger the involvement of relevant business units to review contracts and terms to ensure timely completion of projects
- Work with Fidelity’s international procurement teams to ensure that deals maximize economies-of-scale across Fidelity, where appropriate, and deliver local/global cost savings initiatives
- Perform contract management
- Identify and manage implementation of key contractual terms and conditions to meet business needs, limit liability and reduce legal exposure
- Prepare contract summaries
- Identify and communicate contractual risks and opportunities
- Relationship Management
- Expand and promote the role of Procurement throughout Fidelity
- Work closely with the supplier and the end user business unit to ensure Procurement is providing the highest level of support
- Work directly with business unit stakeholders to assess Fidelity’s needs and provide guidance on strategy, opportunity assessments and sourcing execution
- Keep abreast of current and evolving business requirements and market capabilities in order to provide customized procurement support
- Develop, communicate, present and deliver reports to management
What We Are Looking For:
- University degree or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of procurement experience as either a category manager or product manager
- Experience dealing with suppliers
- Technology procurement experience in the financial services industry is preferred
The Expertise You Bring:
- Proven experience in end-to-end procurement of technology and non-technology products and services
- Experience in supplier selection via formal RFP process
- Experience resolving disputes and advanced understanding of contract law/term constructs
- Strong negotiation, facilitation and procurement leadership skills
- Strong managerial skills
- Excellent relationship management, team and communication skills
- Self-motivated, takes initiative and has the ability to effectively organize, multi-task and prioritize a wide array of initiatives
You will be working on a flexible hybrid schedule as part of Fidelity’s dynamic working arrangement.
