Who are we looking for?

This role is intended for a Project Manager interested in the advancement of their career in the design and management of large transportation infrastructure projects. The role will provide exposure to and opportunities for growth in business development, staff management, and operations management.

The Transportation Group within GHD Canada works with Provincial, Regional, and local municipal transportation agencies, as well as select contracting partners, on large scale projects across the whole Transportation spectrum of highways, roads and bridges, transit and multi-modal infrastructure, and transportation planning. Our team provides integrated transportation services throughout the project lifecycle from initial policy, transportation economics and business case advice, through planning, concept, environmental assessment, detailed design, construction administration, and asset management support.

Working with an energetic and hard-working team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Successful participation in, and completion of, municipal and bridge projects.
  • Leading multi-disciplinary teams for preliminary and detail design road and bridge projects for municipal clients as a Project Manager.
  • Taking ownership for all aspects of the management of projects from proposal to close-out, including managing teams, sub-consultants, budgets, schedule, quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
  • Providing technical leadership and mentorship to intermediate and junior staff.
  • Teamwork in small and large teams. Owning the integration with other engineering disciplines, engineers, and design staff in the production of high-quality project deliverables.
  • Promoting best practices and leadership in the delivery of Highway, Road, and Bridge Projects.
  • Supporting Business Development including capture planning and leading proposals.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the business development strategy for relevant clients, including creating capture plans and enhancing client relationships.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering
  • Ontario P.Eng. designation required (or eligible)
  • 10+ years' experience in design and engineering of transportation infrastructure projects, including project management experience.
  • Experience working with Western Ontario municipal transportation clients.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop, mentor and lead professional technical staff.
  • Familiarity with Civil 3D and/or InRoads are considered assets.
