A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
DIFFERENTIATING FACTORS
Autonomy: Manages one or more major, developing programs for critical functions across one or more regions that require development and coordination of new program plans or delivery methods with little precedence .
Is accountable for overall program unit success.
Organizational Impact: Establishes program objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets.
Establishes new policies and procedures that affect program management.
Has budget accountability for one or more major programs.
Program decisions are generally made independently with strategic or costly decisions recommended to higher level management.
Innovation and Complexity: Problems and issues faced are complex, difficult and undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem.
Problems typically impact multiple major job areas, businesses or functions within a program.
Enhances programs management processes to substantially improve programs.
Communication and Influence: Communicates and conducts briefings with senior or executive leadership regarding critical program outcomes .
Represents one or more programs as the primary internal and external contact and makes recommendations to leaders and executives.
Influences across functions and businesses to negotiate and gain cooperation on new proposals and programs with divergent objectives.
Leadership and Talent Management: Leads a matrixed small unit that typically includes multiple teams led by Program Managers and/or vendors.
Approves tasks and schedule necessary for successful program execution.
Not directly responsible for hire or fire decisions and people management.
Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires broad management knowledge and experience to lead project teams in multiple job areas.
Typically has mastery level knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with broad understanding of other areas within the job function.
Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R.

A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Creates and executes comprehensive market access strategies through the integration of pricing and reimbursement, health technology assessment, evidence- based medicine review, and health economic modeling activities.
- Designs, develops and implements an integrated approach to all aspects of the payer value proposition from early development through and beyond loss of exclusivity.
- Communicates the unique attributes of the therapeutic area drugs/medical devices to external multi-stakeholders to ensure the drug's/device's value proposition will be recognized and maximize market uptake.
- Works collectively with payers, including HTA, reimbursement influencers and other decision makers to ensure the continuous changing reimbursement systems remain fair to all involved parties.
- Develops strategic studies with the end-customer in mind to ensure that the results will favorably impact pricing, reimbursement and market access as well as market uptake.
- Conducts quantitative and qualitative pricing research.
- Works with Health Economics/Outcomes Research to design pricing strategy.
- Responsible for reporting complaints and Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR)
- Responsible for planning, initiating, monitoring, tracking and/or prioritizing Health Economics, Policy & Reimbursement projects and process improvement initiatives and facilitating successful, on-time and within budget execution.
- Sets clear direction and management objectives that aligns with defined practices and policies and enhances the organization's ability to develop and execute clinical studies and reimbursement strategies in response to changing regulatory environments.
- Interacts and works closely with other departments, such as but not limited to, Government Affairs, Marketing, Sales, Legal, R&D and Clinical to ensure optimal assessment of the potential business impact of healthcare policy and recommending and implementing appropriate strategy to drive outcomes are as favorable as possible for Medtronic.
- Directs day to day activities for multiple work-stream teams through managing project plans, resourcing, status reporting, resolving issues, identifying project risks and accountability for deliverables across multiple functional organizations.
- Establishes meaningful metrics and tracks against them.
- Responsible for project performance, risk management, administration, financial management, budgeting and issue resolution..
