Job Description
The Payroll Systems Specialist supports the maintenance and processing of current JDE payroll solution and participates in the planned implementation of Oracle Payroll by executing testing, validating solutions, and aligning business requirements with system functionality. Assist in troubleshooting, analyzing business needs, and configuring Oracle Cloud to support HRIS processes. Provide technical support, develop test scripts, document results, and maintain clear records of system configurations, process changes, and payroll data.
Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.

This position may involve defense articles and/or technical data regulated by the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and the U.S. Arms Export Control Act. What You’ll Do
- Contributes functional expertise by collaborating with members of the Payroll and Financial application support team to execute testing activities and validate solutions during the implementation of Oracle Payroll.
- Participates in workshops to formulate functional business requirements and align them to Oracle Payroll functionality.
- Assists in the identification of requirement and design gaps, supporting the development of solutions that address business needs, including the design of inbound and outbound integrations within payroll processes.
- Participates when required in the identification of requirement and design gaps to assist with the development of solutions that support business needs, inclusive of the support of how inbound and outbound integrations should function within payroll and the overall design of the solution.
- Assists in troubleshooting Oracle Payroll related issues, identifying root causes, and recommending solutions.
- Participates in the design and configuration of the Oracle Cloud environment to meet business requirements to support HRIS processes.
- Effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, keeping all parties informed about project progress, challenges, and changes.
- Offer ongoing technical support to address any issues or concerns that arise after implementation.
- Collaborates with internal teams to understand upstream and downstream impacts on systems and processes.
- Supports Oracle Payroll testing by developing and executing test scripts, documenting results, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Assists with documenting system configurations, test results, process changes, and payroll-related data validation and reporting to ensure clear records are maintained and necessary documentation is prepared.
- The ideal candidate has experience processing Canadian Payroll and has participated in a successful HRIS implementation cycle that includes Payroll processing (end to end), in either Oracle.
- Minimum 4 years of experience on supporting JD Edwards focusing on payroll.
- Proven ability to understand data movement to external systems and advise on impacts related to upstream and downstream systems.
- Demonstrated ability to plan work and manage priorities with commitment to quality and the timely completion of projects.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience working in operational payroll processing in JD Edwards or Oracle.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience running payroll for multiple unions.
- Must have a comprehensive understanding of Payroll Processing, Garnishments, Tax Filings, and general payroll day to day processes and procedures within an organization that has multiple unions.
- Local knowledge of Legislative Payroll Requirements.
- Knowledge of common business pay practices.
- Proficient in English written and verbal communication at a level required for effective verbal and written communication with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Experience with JD Edwards Payroll is an asset.
- Ability to work well autonomously and in a team environment.
- Self-motivated with a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning to stay current on trends in Payroll processes.
