Financial Analyst

We’re looking for a Financial Analyst to support financial analysis across a variety of projects, including land development, home building, and development acquisitions. You’ll create clear and compelling presentations, carefully review data to ensure assumptions are accurate, and confidently challenge inputs when necessary. Thriving in fast-paced environments, you’ll meet tight deadlines and deliver high-quality work. As a key member of the Finance and Corporate Affairs House Team, you’ll help execute Anthem’s capital strategies, communicate with financial partners, analyze new offerings, prepare investment documents, and contribute to other team initiatives.

You

• Have strong Excel skills, with extensive experience analyzing cash flows and creating reliable financial models
• Have excellent writing skills
• Are passionate about real estate, with up-to-date market knowledge to challenge assumptions and contribute valuable insights to project discussions

You Will

• Assist in creating and managing financial models and proformas for various development projects, working closely with teams across development, marketing, construction, accounting, asset management, sales and leasing
• Create proformas for land acquisitions and new homebuilding projects
• Apply a strong understanding of DCF and free cash flow methods for valuation
• Support the Real Estate finance team with data analysis, including cash flow, scenario analysis, and capital structure reviews
• Help prepare presentation materials for equity and debt financing
• Contribute to quarterly corporate reports, fair market value reports, and other ongoing financial analysis
• Collaborate with teams across different asset classes and regions to gather and analyze data for internal and external stakeholders
• Analyze investment structures for new and existing real estate projects
• Build relationships with real estate and financial professionals across Anthem’s business units and provide analysis and support to internal teams including Sales, Accounting, Construction and Development
• Assist with creation of confidential memorandums and summaries for new investment opportunities
• Assist in creating reporting packages for new portfolio and fund partnerships
• Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested by management and financial partners
• Offer on-the-ground financial analyst support as needed
• Support broader financial analysis and modeling efforts across different real estate asset classes
  
  

You Have

• Degree in Business, Finance, or Real Estate
• CPA, CA, or CFA designation (preferred)
• Real estate experience (preferred)
• Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to build complex cash flow models and analyze investment returns
• Knowledge of Newstar and Yardi (nice to have)
• Strong written English skills
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Comfortable having candid discussions with senior leaders and presenting your perspective
• Strong business acumen
• Attention to detail and high accuracy
• The ability to travel to Edmonton (and occasionally Vancouver) regularly
