The Opportunity:
At WSP, we're continuing to grow and develop our expertise in Earth and Environment, operating as a trusted advisor and technical expert for engineering and environmental projects for our clients across multiple industries. Our team is growing, and as a result we're adding an Early Career Groundwater Modeller to our group. As part of the team in Prairies and North, you'll be responsible for driving forward our ambitious plans to enhance our Earth and Environment service offerings through your work with a close-knit team of engineering specialists, professionals, and technical staff.

If you have...
A day in the life:
- You’ll assist project managers / technical leads with the execution of a broad range of hydrogeology technical services.
- You’ll support in the development and application of analytical and numerical groundwater models.
- You’ll manage and use data to assist with project reporting.
- Assist with the analysis and interpretation of model results and hydrogeological data.
- Be a self-starter and take ownership of project tasks.
- You’ll follow and understand the health and safety policies and procedures of WSP and our clients.
- You’ll take an active role in working with a mentor to support your individual career progression and growth.
We'd love to hear from you if you have...
- An undergraduate Degree in Civil, Geological or Environmental Engineering or Geology/Hydrogeology.
- Strong all-around academic knowledge of physical hydrogeology.
- Eligibility to become licensed as a Professional Engineer or Professional Geoscientist in Alberta.
- Zero to four years of experience, preferably with mining and/or oil and gas industries.
- Excitement to better understand hydrogeological data collection and its interpretation.
- Strong computer skills including GIS-type software and digital databases.
- Exposure to or experience with industry-standard numerical modelling packages.
- Programming experience would be an asset.
- Some practical field experience with physical hydrogeology.
- Solid organizational skills.
- Strong communication and technical writing skills.
