Victoria Cool Aid Society

City: Victoria, BC
Contract type: Full time
Detailed Job Description
This is a great opportunity to join an organization that is committed to ending homelessness and improving the lives of the most vulnerable in our community.
We offer a range of benefits including health and dental care, three weeks of vacation time, paid sick time, employee and family assistance program, and Municipal Pension Plan. We also offer excellent in-house training covering all aspects of working with our clients and other core skills and are committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities.
The Supportive Housing team values a relationship-based approach to working alongside people who are vulnerably housed or have been unhoused in the past. We believe that every interaction matters. We are looking to recruit a Frontline Supervisor who brings an understanding of supporting a dynamic team in a busy environment and has an appreciation of the varying needs of the people we serve.
As a Frontline Supervisor, you will work with your team to: plan and assign tasks, delegate, monitor work assignments and staff performance, provide feedback, and ensure client needs are met. This position ensures proper flow of communication between sites and your team, and supports follow up with emergency services and others as required. As a Frontline Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing the frontline operations and safety of the site throughout your scheduled shift.
We are looking for an individual that has a proven ability to respectfully supervise assigned tasks and to effectively manage a myriad of tasks and decisions that occur on shift. Someone with the philosophy, energy, and leadership skills to collaborate and succeed. You will also bring sound understanding of the support needs of people struggling with low income and complex health and housing needs.
The successful candidate will lead by example in promoting a culture of health, safety, and well-being of individuals by ensuring that site specific guidelines and all health and safety policies, standards, regulations, and practices are implemented and complied with by program participants, staff, and visitors. Above all we are looking for a motivated, committed individual who has a genuine desire to support people and meet them where they are at.
Qualifications
