Position Summary

Responsible for the overall administration of the contracts administration function on a corporate project basis. Required to have a strong understanding of all contract documents during the construction phase for existing projects.

Typical Duties

  • Supervises and administers corporate policies, procedures and systems for contract administration activities for small, medium and large sized complex projects of various types
  • Coordinates site issues with the company’s design teams
  • Conducts project observations during the construction phase and ensures contractor compliance with technical and contractual terms and conditions throughout the construction stage
  • Reviews, circulates and gains approval for all shop drawings, documents and samples
  • Analyzes all structural inspection and testing reports relevant for the close-out of projects
  • Regularly performs QA/QC Reviews
  • Experienced with local building codes, bylaws and governance with technical knowledge of concrete, structural steel and timber design
  • Extensive knowledge of standard methods and established procedures

Requirements

  • Completion of a post-secondary program in applied sciences or engineering with broad experience. May have international experience
  • Understanding of structural reinforced concrete, structural steel, timber and masonry structures
  • Access to a reliable vehicle for regular site visits throughout Southern Ontario
  • Excellent organizational skills, allowing for the ability to work with design teams on multiple projects at the same time and meet established deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to work effectively on site and interact with Contractors
  • Strong project management and technical report writing skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic team-oriented environment
  • Computer literate and proficient in the use of relevant computer applications
