Position Overview

Position: Receiving Manager

Reports to: Store Manager

This is your opportunity to advance your career in a leadership role. As the Receiving Manager, you will manage the Receiving department to ensure that all departments are prepared for daily operations.

What you’ll do:

  • Hire, motivate and mentor Team Members
  • Lead, coach and train Team Members to maintain the highest level of productivity and engagement
  • Resolve Team Member and customer issues as they arise
  • Be committed to maintaining merchandising and operational standards
  • Uphold company policies and procedures including health & safety, food safety and loss prevention and hold your team accountable to maintain set standards
  • Merchandise, manage inventory, schedule and be accountable for financial objectives
  • Implement initiatives that support company objectives
  • Monitor local competitors and react to local market conditions
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all Team Members, Customers and Vendors

What we are looking for:

  • Post secondary education and a minimum of 2 years of food retail experience
  • 1-2 years supervisory/leadership experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certified Forklift Operator and certified trainer
  • Knowledge of Employment Standards, WHMIS, Food Safety and Loss Prevention practices
  • Knowledge of temperature control
  • Radio Frequency gun knowledge
  • Ability to verbally communicate with customers and staff to understand what is wanted and expected from them. Enhancing relationships with customers through verbal interaction
  • Strong organization and tactical planning skills
  • Strong initiative ability, excellent work ethic and a sense of urgency
  • Ability to work in a high paced time constrained environment
  • Strong sense of ownership, drive and enthusiasm
  • Strong leadership, motivation, coaching, development and mentoring skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new situations, as well as new and changing processes, programs and services

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a store retail environment
  • Must be available to work days, evenings and weekends
  • Travel is required to support off-site events
