Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining the Quality System within the distribution center. This role involves conducting inspections, training staff, writing and revising SOPs, and managing quality-related documentation. The specialist will also liaise with clients, external auditors, and Health Canada officials to support audits and regulatory compliance. Additionally, they will oversee corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), investigate deviations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to uphold quality standards and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all staff members receive training in their respective job functions, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Develop, write, and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed.
- Conduct regular process adherence checks and recordkeeping reviews, summarize findings, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Act as the primary contact during external audits, providing necessary documentation and information to clients.
- Liaise with Health Canada officials during regulatory audits and ensure compliance with all applicable guidelines.
- Address and resolve Customer/Client Quality Assurance (QA) inquiries and concerns.
- Monitor departmental processes and systems to maintain regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
- Investigate and resolve deviations or issues, providing detailed reports to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in developing proactive strategies to prevent potential quality or compliance issues.
- Prepare and manage deviations / Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and change control requests, ensuring timely follow-up.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the Quality System.
- Perform Qualified Person in Charge (QPIC) / Responsible Person in Charge (RPIC) duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a Science-related field (or internationally equivalent) – Preferred
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or food industry – Preferred
- Quality Assurance experience in a regulated environment – Preferred
- QPIC/AQPIC designation – Preferred
