Reporting to the Senior Director, OSFI Assurance, the Director, OSFI Assurance will provide insight and recommendations on the development and implementation of assurance frameworks that align with the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) regulations. This role is critical in ensuring compliance, risk management, and operational excellence within the organization

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.
How you'll succeed
  • Project Management- Develop and support the OSFI assurance strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Work along with a team of assurance professionals in conducting risk assessments, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Collaboration- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify areas of improvement and implement effective solutions to enhance compliance and operational efficiency. Prepare and present to risk, internal and external audit team on assurance activities, findings, and recommendations.
  • Compliance and Risk Management- Foster a culture of compliance and risk awareness throughout the organization through training and communication initiatives. Build and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, ensuring open lines of communication and proactive engagement.
  • Cross functional relationships- This role reports to the Senior Director, OSFI Assurance and colleagues of various levels across multi functions in the bank including Risk Management, Finance, Internal Audit, External Audit, Treasury Technology and other resources in Liquidity Management team.
  • Strategic Leadership- As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend strategic options to senior leadership, and changes to strategic planning and business processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness..
Who you are
  • You have a degree/professional qualification University degree in Business or Accounting; MBA and/or CFA
  • You can demonstrate experience. Comprehensive knowledge of the banking industry and products, with over 10 years relevant experience. Experience and knowledge in CIBC financial and management accounting systems
  • You are analytical. Strong analytical, problem solving, communication and decision making skills. Extensive knowledge of technology issues and database management. Business applications (QRM, SQL applications, Alteryx, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • You have strong communication skills. Advanced presentation/interactive skills sufficient to convey complex conceptual information/ideas on issues requiring extensive interpretation, objectivity &/or opinion.
  • You have demonstrated experience. Understanding and knowledge, within the scope of CIBC’s parent bank, subsidiary and foreign branches. Liquidity characteristics of various products, Organizations and structures, Regulatory, tax and legal issues, Financial reporting and performance measurement reporting systems, Treasury, risk management and corporate governance, Funds management and cash settlement functions
