ATB 101 is a student work experience and engagement program! Our ATB 101 students play an integral role in the success of our business. As ATB’s next Operations Analyst Student, you will join a team responsible for several critical functions in Wealth Operations including transferring client assets both internally within Wealth and ATBF and externally to other financial institutions, client trading and settlement of various financial products, and money movement both internally within accounts and to external Financial Institutions. Our ATB Wealth Operations team works behind the scenes to support our financial advisors in all client segments. You will join a highly collaborative and inclusive team that works in a hybrid environment.

Accountabilities

This role will be pivotal in advancing the following strategic work:

  • Executing on the stand up of an independent money movement team
  • Identifying and resolving gaps in operations processes
  • Building of controls, reporting and documentation
  • Exploring the use of data in remediation, decision making, and in forecasting volumes and impact of these volumes in future years
  • Refining forms used in the various processes

Skills, experience & requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with ATB Wealth colleagues
  • Demonstrate a critical thinking and analytical mindset
  • Identify and analyze problems, gaps, and themes in various operations departments; effectively partner with various areas of the business when identifying, evaluating and implementing possible solutions
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal, written, and through video conferencing
  • Actively engage colleagues and leaders with updates on progress
  • You are client obsessed, a champion of belonging and driven to perform
  • Curiosity; you are compelled to make things better
  • Strong computer and technical skills with experience in Excel, Google Sheets and the Google suite of products
  • Knowledge of the Canadian investment industry is an asset
