Job Summary

The IT Investment Solutions Group at HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan) is looking for an experienced individual to fill a permanent, fulltime IT Business Consultant role on the SimCorp Dimension team. SimCorp Dimension team primarily creates solutions in SimCorp Dimension application and supports core Investment Operations, Investment Accounting and Reporting functions. In this role you will be part of many initiatives working with stakeholders in front, mid, and back office, delivering solutions that will have a real, tangible impact on HOOPP’s performance. The exposure to the various aspects of the business will allow you to learn the ins-and-outs of how HOOPP operates.

The Business Consultant will possess a strong knowledge in the following business areas – Investment Management/Capital Markets (financial products and their front-through-back-office lifecycle), Investment Accounting principles, financial reporting datapoints, as well as a general understanding of other functions such as valuations, trade management and settlement, corporate actions. A successful candidate must have experience in building solutions in SimCorp Dimension.

What you will do:

  • Build and support Portfolio Management and Investment Accounting solutions in SimCorp Dimension application
  • Hands-on system configuration, testing, implementation, and production support across a comprehensive set of asset classes (Equity, Fixed Income, Credit, Securities Lending, Collateral, Derivatives, FX, OTC products, etc.)
  • Seek opportunities to improve solutions and optimize workflows and processes - trading and data workflows, automation of manual processes, improvement of system performance
  • Be part of a high-performing team that embodies the agile mindset, shows high-level of team collaboration, providing many opportunities for learning and growth
  • Support and elevate the team through mentoring and growing junior members on the team.
  • Work closely with HOOPP business partners and other teams in Investment Solutions Group
  • Support the Product Owner and contribute to the technology roadmap / vision for SimCorp ecosystem.

What you bring:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with SimCorp Dimension application across various modules through full development cycle (configuration, testing and implementation). Experience with IBOR, ABOR, Trade Manager and other modules in SimCorp
  • Breadth and depth of Investment Product knowledge including various financial products (Equity, Fixed Income, Credit, FX, OTC Products, Derivatives), trade lifecycle, investment accounting principles, reporting data points
  • Ability to multitask and play an active role in solution visioning, analysis, sizing, QA testing, production promotions, production support
  • Proven track record of building trust and mentoring Analysts.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leading delivery on major features and complex projects. Ability to parse out key details and focus for cost vs. benefit and knowing when we may need to descope to ensure milestones are met.
  • Exceptional communication skills with stakeholders and external vendors
  • Strong consulting and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical aptitude, SQL knowledge is an asset
  • Experience working in an agile team and demonstrable knowledge of agile roles
  • Degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or Computer Science - CMA, CFA or CPA is an asset
