Building Automation Technician

Convergint is currently recruiting for a Building Automation Technician to join our team at our customer site in Northern British Columbia.

This is a rotating shift of 7/7, or 14/14 with camp accommodation provided for the duration of your shift.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”

• Maintaining, troubleshooting and adjusting the many different building automation systems on-site including, Schneider EcoStruxure and SpaceLogic controllers, Distech ECY and ECB type controllers, Honeywell ComfortPoint, Siemens and JCI controllers and could include some PLC's currently controlling HVAC equipment.
• Completion of a full BMS audit of over 100 buildings and systems including controller types and counts, IP address's, MAC and Device Instance numbers and will have to provide input on the integration process of all these systems.
• Acts as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
• Adhere to and promote the Company’s health and safety procedures as well as ensuring Provincial and local regulations are followed.
• Presents a professional image of Convergint at all times in appearance and behavior and seeks opportunities to promote the services offered by the company.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
  
  

What You’ll Need

• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to determine the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted
• Solid technical skills and experience related to electronic security systems
• Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions
• Must be a self-starter and work well with general supervision
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper)
• Valid clean Driver's license
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Solid organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple service needs simultaneously
• Proficient computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of previous, relevant experience required.
• Experience with one or more of the following products: Schneider EcoStruxure and SpaceLogic controllers, Distech ECY and ECB type controllers, Honeywell ComfortPoint, Siemens and JCI controllers
• Experience with front end EBO (EcoStruxure Building Operation) is also considered a significant asset.
• Previous experience working on an industrial site is considered a significant asset
• Strong competency in computer networks and BACnet IP and understanding building networks and architecture.
