Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Fire Assay Laboratory Technician to join our innovative team. This role is crucial in ensuring the accurate analysis of precious and base metals through fire assay techniques, directly supporting our commitment to delivering precise and reliable analytical results.
The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and a drive to support cutting-edge research and development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process samples with precision using fire assay techniques, including flux preparation, fusion, cupellation, button separation, and digestion, to ensure reliable metallurgical analysis.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as furnaces, balances, and grinding mills to optimize performance and minimize operational downtime.
- Record and report analytical results with meticulous attention to accuracy, following established procedures and quality control protocols.
- Handle Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) and actively engage in quality assurance programs to maintain the integrity of laboratory outputs.
- Uphold a safe, clean, and organized laboratory environment, consistently adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
- Assist in developing and optimizing fire assay methods to improve the efficiency and accuracy of metallurgical testing processes.
- Work closely with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines, ensuring smooth laboratory operations.

Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma or degree in Chemistry, Metallurgy, or a related scientific discipline.
- Professional Experience: Previous experience in a fire assay laboratory or metallurgical
- testing environment is preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of fire assay principles, procedures, and laboratory safety standards.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with laboratory data management systems. Specifically, previous experience with software such as Benchling or NetSuite is an asset.
- Physical Capabilities: Comfortable working in high-temperature environments while maintaining precision and safety standards.
