Title: Community Health Nurse - Resource Team

Salary: $91,965 - $110,933 per year (pay range explained below)

Contract: Casual

Hours: Part-time hours

Location: Interior Region, B.C.

Bargaining Unit: Professional Institute of Public Service of Canada (PIPSC)

  • Nurse in Charge (NIC) Allowance: Up to $6,000 per year for Community Health Nurses (CHN Level 4)
  • Remote Certified Practice Allowance: Up to $6,000 per year ($23.00/day)
  • Weather-Protective Clothing Allowance: Reimbursement up to $1,200
  • Extensive Health and Dental Benefits: Offered day 1 of employment
  • Robust Pension Plan

About The Role

As the Community Health Nurse, you will work in an expanded scope of practice to provide primary care, public health, health promotion, and emergency care for First Nations individuals, families, and communities, including after hours on-call care. You will work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team.

  • Housing is available
  • Rotation length is flexible ( 2-week, 3-week, 4-week rotation schedule is available)

About You

To be successful in this role you will have / be:

  • A bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Current registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Working towards or are Remote certified (RNC) with BCCNM is preferred. Must have emergency and or critical care experience.
  • Current CPR course for Health Care Providers (HCP)
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's license
  • An understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols
  • Knowledge of nursing processes

You may have experience in; primary care, disease and injury prevention, health protection, curative, urgent and emergent care, medical / surgical, rehabilitation and supportive or palliative care.

The Pay Range is the minimum (Step 1) and maximum (highest Step) annual base salary based on full time equivalent hours. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
