Security Guard

Commissionaires Manitoba is seeking applicants to join our security services team for full and part time mobile patrol opportunities in Southport and Portage La Prairie. With a night shift schedule, duties are to conduct mobile patrols of a specified area, exterior visual inspections, and physical door checks of buildings to assist in the detection and reporting of vandalism, theft or safety-related incidents within the area.

Applicants shall be physically and mentally able to perform duties, be highly reliable, have strong attention to detail, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Duties:

• Responsible for foot patrols / vehicle patrols

• Must be able to walk and climb stairs

• Provide access to buildings during lockouts

• Report any issues discovered to the appropriate authorities

• Ensuring client property is secure in accordance with post orders

• Ensuring that facility policies are followed

• Completing daily logs and written reports as necessary

Qualifications:

• Must have 5 years residency in Canada

• Must have a valid security guard license

• Valid driver’s license

• Obtain a VOP – Vehicle Operators Permit through the Commissionaires

• Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions

• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

• Basic computer skills are required on most sites; (email, Word, data entry in Excel)

• Ability to walk in large areas or stand for extended periods of time

• Strong attention to detail

• Able to follow directions

• Leadership skills would be an asset

Bilingual (English/French) an asset, Canadian Forces and RCMP veterans are encouraged to apply. Commissionaires will provide necessary training using in-class and/or virtual environment.
