About the Role:

Are you passionate about technology and storytelling? Linus Media Group (LMG) is on the lookout for a talented Content Writer to create engaging and technical content for our readership. With over 16 million subscribers on our main YouTube channel, Linus Tech Tips, and millions across our secondary channels, you’ll have the opportunity to inform and engage a massive audience.
As a member of the Labs Team, you’ll break down complex hardware testing and performance data into insightful and well-structured articles, resonating with industry professionals and everyday consumers. You’ll collaborate with engineers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and other team members to develop in-depth, well-researched content.
Duties:
- Write and edit high-quality and compelling articles, product reviews, and comparisons for LTT Labs
- Create highly creative, thought-provoking, and captivating storylines and visual assets to enhance engagement and storytelling
- Ensure article copy, visuals, and creative assets align with the LMG brand, Quality Assurance standards, and SEO best practices
- Research and stay up to date on consumer technology, trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities for written content
- Facilitate review sessions and collaborate cross-departmentally to clarify data, resolve issues, and ensure accurate, engaging, and unbiased content that reflects objective test results
- Use analytics and content audits to measure performance to find areas of improvement in user engagement, readership loyalty, and brand awareness
- Prepare visually appealing and informative technical charts, tables, and graphs with an emphasis on accuracy
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a technical copywriter, editor, or content writer, preferably in a direct-to-consumer environment
- Excellent written communication skills with ability to balance technical and non-technical ideas while incorporating feedback in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
Assets:
- Strong understanding of SEO best practices and how to optimize content for search engines
Compensation:
For this position, the typical hiring salary range falls between CAD $70,000 and $90,000 per year. The base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills and experience. LMG's compensation structure is rooted in a performance and merit-based approach that acknowledges the performance of both the individual and the team.
