Job Description

About The Role:

The Maintenance Technician operates within a production / technical department, with a focus on execution of preventive and corrective maintenance. The main purpose of the job is to prevent any malfunction of the equipment, apparatus, machinery or systems used in the production process.

The job may be limited to one single technical discipline (such as construction, mechanical, rotating, electrical), or may include more skill in related technical areas.

At the highest job level, the “all round” Maintenance Technician is capable of troubleshooting and solving technical issues in an expert role.

Responsibilities:

Inspections and Preventive / Planned Maintenance:

  • Checks and assesses the condition of handling equipment based on maintenance schedules / checklists.
  • Restores imminent defects and performs corrective maintenance activities as scheduled.
  • Signals to the superior potential flaws with details and proposes solutions to avoid future or recurring issues.

Malfunctions and Defects / Repairs:

  • Troubleshoots malfunctions and defects in equipment, machinery, and control systems.
  • Assesses the nature and extent of the problem and determines the necessity of immediate repairs.
  • Performs emergency repairs and makes necessary changes to the equipment.

Modifications and Improvements:

  • Carries out modifications and overhaul work based on work orders and/or instructions from supervisor.
  • Proposes improvements in equipment and machinery based on maintenance experience.

Skills and Expertise

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years of maintenance experience with understanding of safety standards in manufacturing operations.

Expectation From the Role:

  • Hands-on with maintenance activities in management systems for complete administration and insight into equipment state and history.
  • Good knowledge of safety standards and ability to address unsafe situations.
