Intern – Site Technician

Under the supervision of the project manager, the intern is responsible for all administrative aspects and site management of the projects entrusted to them. He plans, in collaboration with the project manager, the submissions as well as the supply of equipment and materials. He is a link between the client, the project manager and operations.

Activities and Responsibilities

• Ensure that quality standards are respected;
• Act as an interface with subcontractors to coordinate and monitor the status of the work, according to the procedures of the plans and specifications;
• Plan material, human and equipment resource requirements and ensure operational efficiency of resources;
• Anticipate the sources of potential problems (time and resources), in order to resolve them in coordination with the foremen or superintendent;
• Organizes and participates in the collection of information for notices and change orders;
• Maintain a daily report of site activities (if required);
• Direct purchases, monitoring and site verification to ensure that all materials, equipment and labor, including those of subcontractors, are certified and approved as defined by contract requirements;
• Direct quality technicians (if required);
• Assume supervision of the on-site quality plan (if required);
• Estimate the costs of materials and labor;
• Perform all other related tasks related to the position.

You Have:

• Academic training: DEC or Baccalaureate in civil engineering or other equivalent training
• Experience: 0 to 2 years

Other Knowledge:

• Ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines
• Good communicator skills
• Ability to make decisions, plan and organize work
• Knowledge of Word, Excel and MS Project software.
• Hold ASP construction and a valid driving license (an asset)
• Mobility to carry out projects throughout Quebec.
