Your Role

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Designer for our Pickering, ON office. A mechanical designer provides direct support to the Mechanical Engineering Department in executing projects within the Nuclear industry. Candidates will create 3D models and design drawings working closely with design engineers. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skills required. Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D models of mechanical systems (process piping, plumbing, HVAC) in both green field applications and brown field applications (implementing within a point cloud scan)
  • Prepare design drawings in accordance with company and client standards
  • Actively work at improving drafting skills and increasing knowledge of mechanical design.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years mechanical design/drafting experience in a consulting environment is considered an asset.
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field is considered an asset.
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D, CADWorx and Revit are considered assets.
  • Experience with 3D scanning and working with point cloud models is considered an asset.
  • Piping design experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong technical, organizational and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and work in the field as necessary.

Additional Information

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)
