Calgary French & International School is looking for a passionate, creative and dynamic educator to lead the integration of technology from Grade 1 to 9. This energetic and innovative leader will be charged with leading, coaching and mentoring faculty to leverage learning through the active and authentic use of technology. They will work closely with teachers, IB Coordinators, and Principals.

Core Areas of Responsibility:

The successful candidate will perform, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

• Lead and research age-appropriate digital citizenship content.
• Provide direct support to the classroom teachers, coaching and modelling technology tools to support instruction in the classroom.
• Consult and collaborate directly with teachers to determine what, when, and where to integrate appropriate technology tools in the curriculum to enhance teaching and learning.
• Demonstrate a foundation in teaching methodologies and pedagogy.
• Model technology usage for staff and share a vision of integrating technological components.
• Keep current with updates in educational technology.
• Design and implement high-quality professional development around teaching and learning with technology.
• Work with teachers individually and in small groups to plan, guide and assist in the integration of technology.
• Assist and support students and teachers with tasks, projects and assignments in the classroom.
• Research, initiate and support global learning projects.
• Work closely with the I.T. department to initiate and employ new technologies.

French is the language of instruction for this position.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Education
• Permanent Alberta teaching certification (or in the process of receiving)
• Expertise, training and experience in the integration of technology
• Valid CPR & First Aid certification
• Valid Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Fluently bilingual (French and English)

Skills, Technical and Behavioural Competencies Required:

• Strong planner and organizer with exemplary communication skills.
• Written and oral communication skills in French and English.
• Commitment to quality educational experiences for elementary and middle school aged students.
• Understanding of the philosophy and principles of educational technology.
• Understanding and knowledge in the integration of technology.
• Interpersonal skills that foster collegiality and the common goals of CFIS mission, vision, and values.
• Demonstrates commitment to continuous learning and growth;
• Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme is desirable but not essential.

Compensation

As per the CFIS faculty salary grid.
