Job Summary

In this role, you will manage the daily operations of the department, ensuring projects and services are delivered on time and meeting customer expectations. You will oversee and mentor a dedicated team of technical service staff, driving continuous improvement in both service delivery and team performance.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Oversee daily service operations, including scheduling and dispatching 24/7 services (repairs and projects).
  • Ensure all projects are completed to customer satisfaction, meeting high-quality standards.
  • Lead service team members, ensuring effective communication and a strong commitment to company goals.
  • Collaborate with sales and engineering to develop project opportunities and deliverables.
  • Assist with monthly profit/loss management, technician utilization, timely invoicing, project management and annual budgeting.
  • Drive business development by building strong customer and vendor relationships.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage service-related performance, errors, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate employee growth and development through training, mentoring, and career progression.
  • Provide semi-annual performance reviews for all direct reports.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of supervisory or management experience in telecommunications service.
  • 10 years of experience as a field technician, with solid technical expertise.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams of 5-15 people.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of wired and wireless products and services, and experience in business development and project management.
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Operator’s License.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and relevant business software.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and resolve operational challenges quickly.
  • Experience working with Motorola and Kenwood portable radio equipment
  • Experience in diagnostic and radio programming
  • Experience working with conventional, trunking, and P25 radio repeater systems
  • Experience installing portable radio equipment into all forms of light duty and heavy-duty vehicles
  • Kknowledge of hand and power tools, test equipment and design/fabrication techniques

We have been supplying wireless communication products and services to Alberta industry since 1981. Our Engineering, Radio Communications, Data Communications, Infrastructure, and Tower Divisions collaborate with customers to build custom solutions for their wireless communication needs. We operate seven service shops in Fort McMurray, Edmonton, Edson, Hinton, Calgary, Saskatoon & Terrace British Columbia.
