Ribbon Communications is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Project Manager to lead a team of Project Managers and oversee the successful delivery of complex telecommunication programs across the western United States.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the alignment of customer and internal Ribbon teams with the company’s strategic objectives, driving program success from initiation to completion.

The Senior Project Manager will take ownership of program scope, schedules, and resources while fostering strong customer relationships and delivering impactful results. This high-impact role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage multiple projects and lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, technical environment.

Responsibilities

Program Leadership and Strategic Alignment

  • Lead and mentor a team of Project Managers, fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth.
  • Act as the primary liaison between customers, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless communication and alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Manage the overall program, encompassing greenfield deployments and augmentation of existing deployments, to ensure alignment with customer and organizational objectives.

Project and Program Management

  • Define and manage program scope, schedule, and resources, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with quality expectations.
  • Oversee design, installation, commissioning, and traffic migration for complex telecommunication solutions.
  • Coordinate efforts across matrixed teams, including Professional Services, Sales, Product Line Managers, and Supply Chain, to drive program success.
  • Regularly interface with customers through face-to-face or virtual meetings, addressing operational concerns and ensuring satisfaction.

Risk and Change Management

  • Identify, analyze, and manage program risks, dependencies, and issues, developing comprehensive mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Proactively manage program changes, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and organizational goals.

Financial Management

  • Monitor and update program financials, including budgeting, forecasting professional services revenue, and cost optimization.
  • Consolidate financial reporting across all assigned projects and present insights to senior management.

Process Optimization and Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to improve project management processes, drive efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Implement best practices and innovative approaches to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality outcomes.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

  • Develop and execute a clear and effective communication plan, ensuring timely and proactive dissemination of relevant information to customers and internal Ribbon stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular account reviews with customers to address operational issues, technical support concerns, and growth opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in customer-facing project management within a highly technical, fast-paced environment.
  • Proven expertise in telecommunication solutions, including field deployments and traffic migration.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse and remote teams.
  • Risk management experience with a track record of effectively mitigating and addressing program risks and issues.
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office.

Desired Qualifications

  • PMP certification or equivalent.
  • Advanced experience in customer account management and relationship building.
  • Familiarity with Ribbon’s product portfolio and telecommunication industry standards.
