Department Overview

TD spends nearly $10bn each year with Third Party (Suppliers). The Strategic Sourcing Group’s (“SSG”) role is to create sustainable competitive advantage for TD by leveraging this Third Party spend and the expertise of our suppliers, to meet our needs, reduce total cost and mitigate Third Party related risks.

SSG’s role is global in scope and is comprised of approximately 160 people located in various TD locations across North America that collaborate closely with our business partners across the organization. The SSG team is in the midst of a journey to transform the way we do sourcing, purchasing and vendor management. We are currently replacing our third-party applications with a best-in-class tool set that will generate efficiencies through the end-to-end Source-to-Pay process. The user base spans the entire enterprise, including SSG, vendor management offices, business stakeholders, and third parties (suppliers). The suite supports the Source-to-Pay lifecycle, including:

  • SAP Ariba Sourcing and Contracting
  • SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance
  • SAP Ariba Buying and Invoicing
  • SAP Ariba Spend Visibility
  • SAP Fieldglass
  • Coupa Risk Assess Third Party Risk Management

The Transformation team will continue with the journey post-deployment to transform, improve, and implement new procurement tools and processes at TD.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Program Lead, this role is responsible for delivering aspects of the transformation program, focusing on implementing transformation projects like new sourcing and contract management systems. Post-implementation, maintaining ongoing enhancements within each system is key. The role involves creating a comprehensive end-to-end solution, focusing on medium-large-scale, complex, or enterprise projects, working with various stakeholders across the bank.

Key Accountabilities

Customer

  • Develop and document detailed solution design, acting as an application SME throughout the design and development lifecycle.
  • Enhance SSG applications (e.g., SAP Ariba, Fieldglass) to optimize processes and provide value to users.
  • Support business strategy through procurement tools development with strategic advice and solutions.
  • Lead solution options creation and coordinate stakeholder engagement for development initiatives.
  • Estimate project development and design components with team members.
  • Develop functional, technical, and user interface designs meeting defined requirements.
  • Consult on System Requirements Specification development, applying functional business knowledge.

Shareholder

  • Review deliverables for quality adherence and redesign requirements.
  • Work with project managers and analysts to define application metrics and performance goals.
  • Adhere to enterprise technology delivery practices and standards.
  • Ensure timely, budgeted project delivery while maintaining corporate quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities to minimize costs and enhance stakeholder experience.
  • Conduct code reviews for compliance and maintainability.
  • Manage application and data integrity issues proactively.

Experience & Education

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant fields or product management certificate.
  • Experience with procurement tools and Source-to-Pay processes.
  • Knowledge in process automation and algorithm development.
  • Experience defining processes for large complex initiatives.
  • Implementing and optimizing large IT solutions experience.
  • 7+ years relevant experience, including 3+ years in Agile or Product Owner roles.
