Technical Lead, Central Pharmacy Technology (CPT), Brampton, ON

The Central Pharmacy Technology Technical Lead role is a technical position who will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of engineers to design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions within Pharmacy Solutions and Technology team. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure technical alignment with business objectives, spark innovation, and tackle complex technical challenges head-on. It's not just about managing projects—you're shaping the future of tech, driving best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous learning. Plus, you'll be at the forefront of crafting the technical strategy that keeps us ahead of the curve.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design new features, automate deployments, aid in architectural design. You will collaborate with diverse teams (i.e. Infrastructure, Information Security, System/Application Development Teams and external partners/vendors) to assist with the implementation of complex innovative features
  • Maintain our high-quality code base by performing code reviews, improving test coverage, automation, and general code quality
  • Ensure Developer Experience is optimal removing barriers from the development process including an effective DevOps process.
  • Lead a team of direct reports including coaching and mentoring including hands-on assistance for team members.
  • Prioritize business requirements and technical requirements to establish a complete backlog and to ensure applications don’t accrue technical debt.
  • Ensure projects are completed leveraging modern architecture and technology aligned with Loblaw Technology approved technologies and governance

What you Bring:

  • Strong software engineering experience, with proven leadership experience.
  • Experience with Cloud Native Design Patterns. Cloud experience (preferably including some of GCP, Azure, PCF, OpenShift, Anthos, GKE)
  • Knowledge and experience with server-side frameworks including Spring Boot and Hibernate knowledge of JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, along with fundamentals of HTML5, JavaScript(ES6+) and CSS3
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize work to meet deadlines
