Position Title: Human Resources Coordinator
Status: Excluded, Permanent, Full-Time
Reports to: Director of Human Resources and Safety
Wage: Grid 1 - $47,123.80 - $55,702.40

Active Care Youth and Adult Services (ACYAS) is a progressive, innovative organization operating residential resources for youth, and adults in British Columbia. Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources and Safety, the Human Resources Coordinator (HRC) is accountable for full cycle recruitment, disability management, onboarding administration, departmental projects, and assisting with safety and emergency response functions. The HRC will provide interdisciplinary support to the implementation of and compliance with organizational policies and procedures in collaboration with departmental managers.
Position with ACYAS encompasses the responsibility of transporting the person served to appointments, activities, or other crucial commitments. Due to this core duty, a valid class 5 British Columbia driver's license is a requirement of employment for this position.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate and facilitate human resource functions including but not limited to full-cycle recruitment and staffing, compensation and benefits, training and development, and occupational health and safety.
- Facilitate and manage the new hire process by setting up new employees on relevant systems, completing and submitting onboarding documentation, and informing relevant departments of the next steps and hiring/onboarding requirements.
- Maintenance of employee personnel files, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
- Assist the leadership team with the interpretation and implementation of organizational policies and procedures.
- Participate in departmental projects and initiatives as assigned, including the standardization and documentation of company policies.
- Facilitate the return-to-work program including WorkSafe BC and Long-Term Disability.
- Tactfully communicate sensitive information to assist with the communication of leaves and disabilities information to and from employees with external service providers.
- Provide guidance and support to management with respect to leaves and disabilities, return to work agreements, and WorkSafe BC regulation applications and ongoing claims.
- Support the Human Resources and Safety department with the development and monitoring of metrics and reporting areas of concerns and opportunities.
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Human Resources and Safety, as required.
- Other duties or tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a human resources role.
- Working towards a CPHR Designation is considered an asset.
- Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
