Contract type: Full time

At eBay, we're more than a global ecommerce leader — we’re changing the way the world shops and sells. Our platform empowers millions of buyers and sellers in more than 190 markets around the world. Join a team of passionate thinkers, innovators, and dreamers — and help us connect people and build communities to create economic opportunity for all.

About the team and the role:

We are looking to hire a team member to partner with the Seller Experience Product team. As a critical member of the Seller experience product analytics team, this team member will have the unique opportunity to influence decision making of the seller experience roadmap with their insights and analysis.

With a vision to find opportunities to drive results-oriented change in the customer experience and result in significant business growth, we mine the largest datasets in the world of e-Commerce and use best-in-class analytics and data science techniques to extract impactful insights. We achieve this by partnering closely with the product and engineering teams, and find opportunities that are accretive to the product roadmaps.

What you will accomplish:

  • You will strike a balance between critical thinking and actual hands-on analyses using tools & packages such as SQL, Python, Tableau etc.
  • You will turn big data into measurable insights. At the same time, you also have the ability to think about the big picture and connect the dots to evaluate how the insights impact eBay’s ecosystem.
  • In addition to delivering insights on existing Product & Tech initiatives, you will come up with innovative growth opportunities based on insights, and build momentum through influence.

What you will bring:

  • Proven track record of turning insights into strategies in prior roles with growing scope and responsibilities
  • Ability to present sophisticated analyses and insights optimally in simple terms
  • Good experience with both descriptive and inferential statistics – ability to build basic prototype models
  • Background in ecommerce product experience
  • Strong quantitative background with Master’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or related.
  • Experience with site experimentation (A/B testing) would be very advantageous
  • Ph.D degree is a plus
