Ontario Health atHome is looking for an experienced Sr. Financial Analyst to support our Family Managed Home Care program. The Sr. Financial Analyst provides strategic support and analysis for budgets and financial expenditures to identify opportunities to deliver greater value for money through efficiencies and innovation.

What will you do?

  • Compiles and distributes reports e.g. internal statements, market share
  • Participatory problem-solving and shared ownership and accountability for decisions and solutions
  • Maintains numerous spread sheets and prepares budget forecast report
  • Processes transactions e.g. receiving, bank, and payroll
  • Supports the analysis of budgets and financial expenditures to identify opportunities to deliver greater value for money through efficiencies and innovation
  • Responsible for balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis of financial data
  • Assists in month-end and year-end reporting and variance analysis
  • Prepares monthly accruals and analyzes
  • Responsible for billing and reconciling with the contracts
  • Provides recommendations on coding of funding and expenses in accordance with MIS, OHRS standards and other legislative requirements
  • Prepares briefing notes and recommendations to the Manager of Finance and Director of Finance on various finance matters
  • Provides information and support to managers, directors and executive team in management of department and program budgets
  • Responds to user inquiries and provides them with applicable information
  • Assists in year-end audit activities e.g. working papers
  • Back up and support for accounts payable
  • Reviews outstanding PO’s to ensure all year end accruals are made
  • Takes all reasonable steps to ensure a healthy and safe work environment and participates in continuous quality improvement
  • Other duties as assigned.

What must you have?

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant working experience
  • Designated CPA, or actively pursuing accounting designation
  • Proficient in the operation of a personal computer in a networked environment using computer software and data entry skills.
  • Expertise in advanced spreadsheets (e.g. Excel) and report writing (e.g. Quadrant Report Designer).
  • We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy. As a condition of employment, all employees are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination status prior to start date

What would give you the edge?

  • Knowledge of Quadrant (Great Plains) financial accounting system is an asset
  • Able to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats with internal staff and external clients.
  • Advanced skills in excel including use of pivots, macros and other functionality to prepare appropriate reports and analysis, and support automization of tasks
