About the Role

As ATB's Project Manager, EFS Program Delivery, you are a key contributor within the Program Delivery pillar of Everyday Financial Services (EFS), focusing on the execution and optimization of EFS's Physical Distribution Network. With over 280 branches and agencies across Alberta, this network is critical to ATB's brand. This role ensures the efficient and effective delivery of branch projects, directly impacting client experience and operational performance.

As Project Manager, EFS Program Delivery, you are passionate about efficient project delivery and are focused on how we execute on our Physical Distribution plans. You will be responsible for leading the execution of branch network projects, including new branch openings, relocations, and closures. You will oversee all project activities, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruption to operations through close partnership with People, Places and Spaces (PP&S) and Client Experience & Technology (CXT).

Accountabilities

In this role you will:

  • Design and implement a robust project management framework for the EFS branch network, encompassing all phases of branch lifecycle management (openings, closures, relocations, and renovations).
  • Build and maintain strong, positive working relationships with stakeholders across the organization through proactive communication, active listening, and a genuine interest in their perspectives.
  • Champion project management best practices, aligned with organizational standards, driving continuous improvement in project delivery.
  • Collaborate deeply with stakeholders to define detailed project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including resource estimates, schedules, and budgets.
  • Execute project plans, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Proactively identify and manage potential risks and challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress against milestones, deliverables, and KPIs, providing regular updates to stakeholders through effective communication and relationship management.
  • Ensure all project documentation is accurately maintained, including project plans, risk and issue logs, and change control documents.
  • Lead and facilitate project meetings with project teams and stakeholders, fostering open communication and mutual understanding.
  • Ensure seamless coordination and communication between project teams, PP&S, CXT, and other relevant departments by building strong partnerships and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Manage project budgets and resources effectively through close collaboration with finance and resource management teams.
  • Contribute to the development of standardized processes and procedures for branch projects by actively engaging with project teams and stakeholders to understand their needs and challenges.
  • Act as a change management champion, supporting teams and stakeholders through project implementations by building trust, understanding their concerns, and communicating effectively.

Skills, Experience & Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, project management, or a related field is typically required.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is highly desirable.
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in project management, preferably within a multi-unit or distributed environment (e.g., retail, banking, hospitality). Experience with branch network management or similar large-scale infrastructure projects is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing complex projects, from initiation to closure, including budget management, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience in change management methodologies and practices.
  • Experience in developing and implementing project management frameworks and best practices.

Skills:

  • Project Management Expertise: Deep understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools.
  • Leadership and Influence: Ability to lead and motivate project teams, influence stakeholders, and drive consensus.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and facilitation skills.
