Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8 hour shifts - flexibility required.

What You Will Do

The Executive Assistant will provide efficient and confidential secretarial support to the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Executive by ensuring day-to-day operations for this role are managed, coordinated and carried out. The Executive Assistant will support the COO and CNE in maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders, Senior Management, Committee Members and The Board of Governors.

This position is temporary until approximately June 8, 2026. Please note that the incumbent will work onsite at The Ottawa Hospital.

Basic Requirements

  • Two-year College Diploma in Office Administration, or equivalent education or work experience;
  • Five (5) years of experience in a Senior Executive Assistant role, supporting executives;
  • Experience creating meeting material and organizing meetings with internal and external parties, virtual and in-person;
  • Experience managing complex calendars;
  • Advanced computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, as well as knowledge of Office 365;
  • Excellent secretarial, organizational, and interpersonal skills;
  • Adaptable to change and able to work flexible hours as required;
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast paced, high-volume environment;
  • Good problem solving and decision-making skills;
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships in a team environment;
  • Ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with staff, leaders and the general public;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to efficiently operate office equipment;
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a highly demanding environment;
  • Knowledge of financial and budget management;
  • Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level), comprehension (advanced level) and writing (advanced level).
