About Us
We are a well-established, privately held family business with a strong foundation in automotive retail, fleet leasing and management, and real estate. Our company operates two dealership locations, with a growth plan to expand to 6-8 over the coming years. Additionally, our fleet leasing and management business currently manages 50,000 vehicles, with a strategic plan to double in the coming years.
As we enter this next growth phase, we seek an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will serve as a key business partner to ownership and the executive team. This individual will provide financial leadership, drive operational efficiency, and support strategic expansion initiatives while maintaining a hands-on, detail-oriented approach.
The Role
Reporting to the Foss Group President, the CFO will be responsible for financial strategy, risk management, reporting, capital allocation, and operational finance across all business units. The ideal candidate is a strategic and proactive leader who leads and inspires a dynamic team of 14 professionals, driving financial strategy and growth. The CFO will balance high-level financial oversight with a hands-on approach, supporting both daily operations and long-term planning.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Provide financial oversight across all divisions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support business growth and profitability.
- Ensure effective cash flow management, capital allocation, and financial controls.
- Proficient in securitization financing accounting
- Assess and implement technology and data-driven solutions to improve financial operations.
- Act as a key advisor to ownership and the executive team, offering strategic financial insights.
Growth & Expansion
- Support the expansion of our dealership operations from two locations to 6-8.
- Help scale the fleet leasing business, optimizing financing structures and operational efficiencies.
- Lead the financial due diligence, structuring, and integration of new business acquisitions.
- Assist in identifying and acquiring new real estate and dealership locations to support growth.
Operational & Business Management
- Implement strong financial controls and reporting systems to enhance visibility and decision-making.
- Work closely with division presidents and senior leadership to drive financial performance.
- Oversee real estate strategy & asset management: Lead the financial strategy, planning, and execution for the company’s real estate portfolio, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and capital investments to maximize long-term value.
- Manage relationships with banks, investors, auditors, and external stakeholders.
- Oversee tax planning, compliance, and risk management across all business units.
Who You Are
We are looking for a high-integrity financial leader who combines technical expertise with a collaborative and hands-on approach. The ideal candidate will have:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with 10+ years of senior financial leadership experience in a multi-entity business.
Experience in automotive retail and/or fleet leasing (preferred).
Proven track record of learning new industries and adapting quickly.
Strong technology and IT focus—leveraging data and systems for decision-making.
Family business experience—understanding of privately held companies and long-term vision.
Experience in scaling similarly sized businesses and leading acquisitions/integrations.
Real estate knowledge (bonus)—exposure to development, sales, and transactions.
