Rodan Energy continues to experience significant growth. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DER Analyst who will ensure seamless operations, streamline workflow and is committed to enabling the clean energy transition. Our mission is Making Sustainable, Attainable!
As the DER Analyst, you will ensure the successful and safe operations of all our assets. Note: This role does require you to be periodically on-call with support from 24/7 staffed shifts. You will have the opportunity to solve problems and grow knowledge about the various Independent Systems Operator (ISO) electricity markets in North America. This role will start your career in helping build a sustainable energy future.
Key Responsibilities:

As the DER Analyst, you will ensure the successful and safe operations of all our assets. Note: This role does require you to be periodically on-call with support from 24/7 staffed shifts. You will have the opportunity to solve problems and grow knowledge about the various Independent Systems Operator (ISO) electricity markets in North America. Key Responsibilities:
- Main Point of Customer Contact for all DER Operations (Daily)
- Communicating with customers on a weekly and daily basis, keeping them up to date on how their systems are operating (activations, issues with the asset, new strategies).
- Ensuring customers are aware.
- any potential activations.
- any issues with the asset.
- Talking and meeting with customers to inform them of operations and new strategies.
- Operator responsible for all SCADA direct control of assets (Daily)
- Ensuring assets are always ready to operate 24/7
- Operating assets as needed on a daily basis
- Game plan creation for optimization of asset
- Resolving any issues that arise and taking appropriate action to remedy risk and ensure the problem is resolved.
- Understanding IESO/NYISO/AESO market rules for compliance of asset operations and other ISO to come (PJM,MISO etc...)
- Understanding utility billing to ensure maximum asset optimization
- Working closely with Engineering to ensure optimal asset health/operation
- Training of other staff (12/7 shift)
- Project management- (Daily)
- Responsible for testing and commissioning of new SCADA projects
- Analysis- (Daily)
- Creating revenue models/estimates for current and potential/future projects based on available information about the assets
- Presentations of new opportunities to potential customers
- Creating summary reports for customers on asset operations (daily/weekly/monthly)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Understanding of Power Systems and Electricity Grid
- 2+ Years of experience working in the energy sector or a field related to energy/electricity.
- Electrical Engineering/Electrical Technologist degree or something similar
- Understanding of how DER (BESS/Generation/Hybrid System) assets operate/work
- Previous experience using SCADA Systems (Supervisory Control and Data Analytics)
- Strong technical and analytical aptitude
- Ability to accurately summarize information
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet all deadlines
- Ability to adjust and be flexible to meet changing work needs and demands
- Resourceful, self-starter who takes initiative to solve problems and meet deadlines
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Easily liaises and interacts with all types of personalities
