Product Specialist

Silk & Snow is a Toronto-based, digitally native business that offers thoughtfully designed bedding products with a frictionless customer experience. We are a small and highly collaborative team, looking to add a consumer-focused and analytical-minded individual to fill the role of a Product Specialist. You are team-oriented, versatile, collaborative, and eager to take on the different challenges that come with working for an energetic start-up.

In this role you will:

The Product Specialist will work closely with the Product/Marketing/Web team and will have an active role in the following tasks:

• Take responsibility for the presentation, content, SEO, maintenance, catalog and overall business health of key products and services being sold
• Ensure eCommerce content, products, and links are up to date are working properly
• Ensure imagery, copy, pricing, placement, cross-sells, and promotions are accurate and compelling
• Monitor Silk & Snow and partner websites for accuracy in photos and content
• Review and updating line sheets for accuracy on a regular basis
• Collaborate with design and development on product knowledge and relaying information to marketing for creation of sales/marketing tools
• Stay continually ahead of market and industry trends, performing competitor analysis, gathering wholesale and retail feedback
• Improve site conversion rates by analyzing data and working with team to implement site changes
• Improve product and category profitability by continually monitoring SKU productivity and competitors
• Drive product development to ensure timely commercialization and adherence with product roadmap
• Enforce Silk & Snow’s product and manufacturing principles, including production, quality, and delivery requirements with all suppliers
• Ensure compliance to regulatory requirements for products and packaging
• Improve continually product quality by working with suppliers to communicate product defects and implement product updates
• Ensure consistency in product knowledge across departments by driving product communication with merchandising, sales, and customer experience teams
• Work cross functionally to launch and merchandise products and obtain feedback

Who You Are:

• 1+ years experience in product management, product development, merchandising, sourcing, or a related discipline
• 1+ years experience scaling new product categories in a B2C consumer products brand
• Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product through its lifecycle, with an understanding of supply chain and sourcing processes
• Ability to manage multiple, time-sensitive projects and competing priorities simultaneously while working independently to drive projects to completion with minimum guidance
• Knowledge of current market, design, and product trends
• Experience with mattresses, beds, furniture, sleep products, home decor, and related categories
• Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets
• Resourceful, proactive, and a true team player
