About the work environment:
Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times. We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto and Vancouver offices. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.
About you:
You understand the needs of a money movement operations team. You can take initiative and are motivated to go out and find answers for yourself. You enjoy thinking outside the box and leveraging technology to solve problems. You are passionate about working closely with stakeholders from various departments, including technology, operations, and compliance, to successfully deliver system enhancements, new features, and regulatory changes. You are an expert in requirements management and software development methodology and have worked extensively with business users, programmers, and Quality Assurance. You enjoy a growth-focused organization that emphasizes ongoing development and career growth.
About the qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a business analyst in banking, payments, settlement, money movement, reconciliation, or other related functions.
- Proven knowledge of processes and platforms such as Lynx, Interac, and ACSS/USBE.
- Familiar with Payments Canada’s rules and by-laws.
- Operational and IT knowledge and a sound understanding of payments infrastructure.
- Ability to understand complex processes and communicate and document them in easy-to-understand process flows and procedures.
- Proven experience with translating business outcomes into functional and non-functional requirements.
- Advocate for using technology to remove process barriers.
- Expertise with MS Office suite, Visio, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, and workflows.
- Proven experience with providing input into project planning, sprint planning, sprint review, grooming or product backlog review, and retrospectives.
- Comfortable in project life cycles that leverage both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
About the day-to-day:
- Actively attain SME-level knowledge and understanding of business processes and flows via in-depth analysis of workflows, standard operating procedures, and Payments Canada’s (and other relevant) rules and standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, identify business requirements, and advocate for the Peoples Trust on internal and external committees.
- Provide coverage for the operations team by undertaking payments-related activities as assigned.
- Lead client integrations, support projects, and various initiatives as the SME for Peoples Trust’s payment processing platform.
- Undertake data-driven tactical and strategic analysis and think outside the box to identify and recommend opportunities to improve operational workflows through technology.
- Be able to work independently yet be a strong collaborator on the team.
Compensation:
Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary. Salary for this position will vary between $65,000 and $75,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possess.
