This Role
The Director General Manager, Western Canada will report directly to the VP of Sales and will oversee a team of Account Managers. In addition to sales management duties, this role will act as the Site Manager for the Vancouver office, providing leadership and oversight to all employees in Western Canada with a dotted line reporting structure. This role is crucial in building, managing, and coaching our sales team, realizing the sales and performance targets of the organization, and fostering a cohesive and productive work environment for all staff members in Western Canada. We are seeking a dynamic individual with excellent communication skills, a proven ability to motivate and develop a team, and a strong sense of leadership, presence and discipline.

This Role
The Director General Manager, Western Canada will report directly to the VP of Sales and will oversee a team of Account Managers. Responsibilities
Sales Management Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Account Managers, providing daily guidance and support to meet their objectives.
- Drive growth and hit sales targets by effectively managing and motivating the team.
- Set clear objectives, coach Account Managers, and monitor their performance regularly.
- Review pipeline accuracy to ensure reliable forecasts for the Senior Leadership Team.
- Maximize profit margins by optimizing pricing and guiding reps on pricing.
- Build strong relationships with manufacturers and distributors to identify new opportunities.
- Conduct Monthly, Quarterly, Mid-Year, and Annual reviews to evaluate performance and set new goals.
- Enforce performance management practices by setting clear expectations, accountability towards KPI’s and regularly reviewing outcomes.
- Foster a performance-driven culture by recognizing achievements and addressing underperformance promptly.
- Participate in recruitment and selection, implementing retention strategies to attract and retain top talent.
- Provide training on cold calling and cold emailing techniques, focusing on tracking and analyzing results.
- Regularly review prospects to ensure they align with target markets, sales strategies, and core offerings.
- Equip the sales team with industry insights and trends to create compelling reasons for client outreach.
- Support the team in account mapping to identify key stakeholders and opportunities.
- Proactively engage top customers to strengthen relationships and uncover new opportunities.
- Oversee and manage team sales pipelines to ensure consistent progress and timely follow-ups.
- Provide comprehensive customer service coaching to enhance client interactions.
- Collaborate with the operations team to monitor backorders (BO), deal registrations, and return merchandise authorizations (RMA).
- Provide leadership and support to all Vancouver office employees, acting as the primary point of contact for office-wide initiatives and concerns and offering leadership support in their day to day operations.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration among all departments within the office.
- Oversee office operations, including facilities management, administrative functions, and compliance with company policies and local regulations.
- Facilitate regular office meetings to keep staff informed about company updates, policies, and procedures.
- Mentor and guide non-sales staff with a dotted line reporting structure, supporting their professional development and addressing any concerns or issues.
- Act as a liaison between Vancouver office employees and their reporting managers, ensuring alignment of policies, company strategy, goals, and objectives.
- Develop and implement office-level strategies to improve operational efficiency and employee satisfaction.
- Promote a positive office culture by organizing team-building activities and encouraging open communication.
- Support the onboarding process for new employees in the Vancouver office, regardless of department.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven sales experience, with a strong understanding of complete sales cycles.
- Previous experience in a leadership role overseeing both sales and non-sales teams is preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and results-driven environment.
- Strong communication, presentation, and influence skills, effective at all organizational levels.
- Creative thinker with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
- Strong sense of accountability and ownership for achieving results.
- Well-developed organizational, analytical, and reporting skills.
- Strong interpersonal and managerial abilities.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, coach, and lead by example.
- Experience in branch management or operations oversight is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and foster a collaborative work environment.
