Recruitment Partners is on the search for a Director of Accounting to join our client’s team. In this leadership role, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a portfolio of industrial, office and retail properties. The Director of Accounting will require a strong commitment and dedication to deliver the best service to strategic investment partners and have the ability to prioritize and achieve deadlines. In this role you will report directly to the Senior Vice President Finance and Accounting.

Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To

• Manage and lead the accounting function in the property management division and oversee its day-to-day activities across the portfolio of properties.
• Maintain control over accounting manuals for policies and procedures followed by the property management group.
• Identify develop and implement accounting best practices, recommend and implement internal controls and financially and operationally.
• Lead the accounting team on new YARDI initiatives and implementations.
• Mentor and coach, the accounting supervisors and other direct reports
• Oversee the review of monthly financial supports and supporting documentation prepared by the accounting team
• Collaborate with internal departments to streamline intercompany processes
• Assist in developing strategic business plans for assets.
• Monitor operating performance of various properties
• Liaise with the development and asset management team with respect to draws and income producing properties
• Lead the annual preparation on property budgets
• Communicate client requests/requirements to the property management group
  
  

Your strengths include:

• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)
• 5+ years of experience and experience in property management
• Demonstrated capability in designing, implementing, and maintaining effective systems of control that enable quality reporting.
• Exceptional understanding of GAAP (ASPE) with an eye on effective design and maintenance of reporting tools for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
• Exceptional delivery of quality client-side review engagements.
• Demonstrated aptitude in maintaining investment banking models for high growth, multi-country businesses, ideally in the SaaS space.
