We seek a leader to assist in developing and coordinating fast-moving policy strategy in support of Amazon’s policy priorities to Strive to Be Earth’s Best Employer. The Senior Manager, Public Policy will serve in a liaison capacity between Public Policy and multiple business partners. They will create and implement a management framework and assist in the planning, coordination, and direction of programs and daily operations of the policy team. Understanding the big picture, connecting the dots, and diving deep in research will be essential to success in this role. The ideal candidate will be organized, strategic, and will have experience developing and leading state government cross-team campaigns. This position will work collaboratively with others in public policy and relevant businesses to ensure alignment between business priorities and public policy goals.
This position will report to the Director, Public Policy and work closely with other public policy team members to execute on strategy.

Basic Qualifications
- BS/BA required.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in public policy, government, or trade associations on relevant topics.
- Demonstrated depth of experience in shaping workforce & employment public policy.
- An ability and desire to travel is required.
- JD or Advanced Degree preferred.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in government or representing a large, complex company or association.
- Demonstrated ability to be both a substantive issue expert and a manager of complex political relationships.
- Experience working with public policy stakeholders and experience managing multiple policy issues.
- Demonstrated ability to understand how technical language in legislative and regulatory proposals could affect corporate operations, identify business implications, and synthesize policy documents for internal customers.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate with, and persuade others is required. Must be flexible and demonstrate strong judgment/decision-making skills, and political acumen.
- Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills; demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at the highest corporate and political levels.
- A self-starter who can take general direction and produce specific results.
- Ability to deliver in ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Maintain highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity, with strongest professional reputation in the industry.
