Overview

Gallagher Re is seeking ambitious, analytical broking talent with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in insurance, reinsurance or consulting to work join our Canadian Broking team. Gallagher Re has grown significantly in the past few years and is looking for dynamic brokers to join the team. This is a client-facing role in a team environment that involves servicing existing accounts, as well as new business production and new product development.

How you'll make an impact

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following
  • Work with the broking team, actuaries and cat modelers to analyze insurance risks on a portfolio level in order to advise clients on reinsurance treaty structures to mitigate downside risk and improve capital efficiency.
  • Prepare, transmit, market, and complete reinsurance placements.
  • Ensure company, market and client related documentation is issued (internally and externally) accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate internal resources, such as analytics, contracts and client services to provide solutions to clients.
  • Meet with senior managers of client companies to present materials.
  • Research on industry topics and the development of content to be shared with Clients and Prospects.
  • Comply with external and internal regulatory and statutory policies, procedures and regulations.

Supervisory responsibilities

While this job does not have an official supervisory role, the candidate will be expected to assist in the training and development of graduate hires.

About you

Required
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university.
  • 3 years of work experience in Property and Casualty insurance, reinsurance or consulting.
  • Experience giving presentations to clients and internal groups.
Additional Considerations
  • ARe Designation, or willingness to attain in the future
  • Team player and ability to problem solving
  • Readiness to build relationships with reinsurers
  • Comprehension of:
    • Core client services practices and procedures
    • Contracts practices and procedures
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Solid ability to communicate in written and verbal form with clients, prospects, and reinsurers
  • Skill to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
